Biography
Jennifer Blom is a classically trained double bass player, with a curiosity for other musical languages. She is an active musician in ensembles such as Antwerpen Camerata, ZeligArt Ensemble and Antwerp Philhamonic Orchestra. In May she created a solo performance around the creative process in residency of Windows of Opportunity.

Jennifer studied at Codarts, Rotterdam with Peter Leerdam. For one year she followed an Erasmus Exchange+ Programme at the CNSMD in Lyon with teachers Cédric Carlier and François Montmayeux.
Receiving a complete VSBfonds scolarship for masters studies, she continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory Brussels with Korneel Le Compte, where she graduated cum laude (2019). Afterwards she obtained here a Masters degree in Education for the Podium Arts.

Jennifer played in several productions for the NJO summer and winter tour, the Dutch National Opera, Young Euro Classic and the Klara Festival. She participated in the Metropole Academy, Orchestra Academy De Munt en NBO and YOF. She received masterclasses from Luis Cabrera, Matthew McDonald, Rick Stotijn, Peter Luit and Guiseppe Ettore.

She co-founded the project INNSÆI with
Lieve De Sadeleer (live electronics, recorder) and Laura Lenhardt (live electronics, voice). Here acoustic and electronics sounds, texts and improvisations are being explored.

Jennifer has a French double bass bow from Daniel ter Berg on loan from the collection of The Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
